- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections, and all of them must win for the bet to pay out.
- Anytime Goalscorer
- A bet on a player scoring at any point during the match.
- Asian Handicap
- A type of bet that gives the underdog a fictional advantage or disadvantage to make the odds even.
- Back
- To bet for an outcome to happen, the opposite of laying a bet.
- Bankroll
- The total money you have set aside for making bets.
- Bookmaker
- A company or person that sets odds and accepts bets from customers.
- Both Teams To Score
- A bet on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or loss.
- Correct Score
- A bet that predicts the exact final score of a match.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes, such as a team winning or drawing.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet where you pick a team to win; if the match ends in a draw you get your stake back.
- First Goal Scorer
- A bet on which player will score the first goal in a match.
- Half-Time/Full-Time
- A bet that combines the result at half‑time and the result at full‑time of a match.
- Handicap
- A fictional advantage or disadvantage given to a team to balance the odds in a bet.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula that calculates the optimal fraction of your bankroll to risk on a bet.
- Lay
- To bet against an outcome happening, as in a betting exchange where you can act as the bookmaker.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on events while the match is still happening, with odds that update in real time.
- Margin
- The built‑in profit that a bookmaker includes in the odds, often called the vig or juice.
- Odds
- Numbers that show how likely an outcome is and how much money you can win if your bet wins.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals in a match will be over or under a set number chosen by the bookmaker.
- Parlay
- A bet that combines multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, similar to an accumulator.
- Spread
- The difference between the handicap line and the actual line, used to adjust payouts.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Unit
- A standard size used to measure bets, usually expressed as a percentage of your bankroll.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you an edge.
